Designer. Builder. Realtor®.

With over 15 years experience of doing high-end home renovations for both his clients and personal homes, Eric Carter offers a unique perspective to custom kitchen and bathroom remodeling. From designing and flipping renovated luxury homes to being a licensed general contractor and home builder in Colorado and Minnesota, Eric brings his energy, enthusiasm and home remodeling expertise to each project. As the founder of 612 Design, Eric is the lead designer and project manager for all of his client remodels. And he loves turning outdated spaces and houses into modern, well-planned homes that offer timeless styling and beauty. Eric has hands-on experience working with structural engineers and framing carpenters to open up load-bearing walls and reconfigure floor plans by his personal direction, which he's done on countless projects with jaw-dropping results. Eric knows that every project design is like a puzzle. And Eric's creative design vision and design problem-solving ability is often praised by his clients, colleagues and home buyers.

Eric not only strives to create gorgeous living spaces to meet the current lifestyle and budget demands of every client, but he also offers his knowledgeable real estate insight on how to make smart design and remodel choices to maximize your home value and resale. That's because Eric works with real estate investors who hire him to redesign and renovate outdated homes that are sold (or flipped) in fantastic family neighborhoods. So Eric knows the current remodeling trends and mistakes that can help or hurt your home value. After years of working with award-winning interior designers, quality material suppliers and custom builders, Eric has his finger on the pulse of what home buyers are looking for in a high-end home remodel. Eric also works with real estate agents and home buyers where he is called in for design ideas and ballpark estimates on kitchen and bathroom remodels, as well as major home renovations. As a tireless perfectionist who is known for his attention to detail, Eric takes great pride in offering exceptional design and remodel results to clients who want outstanding quality and personal service at an affordable cost.

The Personal Side of Eric Carter

As a native Minnesotan who was born and raised in the Twin Cities, Eric Carter wanted to be a park ranger or police officer when he was young because of his positive experience as a Boy Scout. Eric has also lived in Denver, Scottsdale and Dallas, where he attended Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas, while working with recovering patients in physical therapy at Huguley Hospital, before eventually embarking on his career. Over the years, Eric is grateful to have had mentors that included renowned medical doctors, attorneys and venture capitalists to top school teachers, religious officials and news anchors. And Eric has attended memorable events and met inspirational people—from Gloria Steinem to Mitt Romney to Luciano Pavarotti. When time allows, Eric loves spending time near the water and enjoying the culture of all that's available in both big cities and small towns. Besides his passion for architecture and interior design, Eric enjoys healthy cooking and dining out at specialty restaurants that offer fabulous food, wine and great ambiance. When Eric is not designing and working on rewarding kitchen and bathroom projects, he enjoys an active lifestyle of exercising, volunteering, concerts, sporting events, art exhibits, museums and listening to music ranging from current top 40 and classic rock to jazz and pop country. Most importantly, Eric is a proud dad and single parent who loves spending quality time together with his teenage daughter, family and friends.

Did you know? While working part time as security during his college days in Dallas-Fort Worth, Eric met and became friends with Toby Keith when Toby was touring with his band (at the time) Easy Money—long before Toby became a country singer superstar.
